Integrate Jira 6.4 with PagerDuty

Hi Team,

We are using Jira 6.4 version. When our customer creates a P1 in a ticket at our Jira Service Desk (V 2.5) we want our support team members to receive a call on their mobile phones. Since we are using the older version of Jira PagerDuty support team suggested using Event API V2 to integrate your older version of JIRA. Event API V2 requires routing_key. This key needs to be created in Jira after adding the PagerDuty add-on from the Atlassian Market place. PagerDuty addon is not getting listed for our versions.

While Googling we found this link for Jira legacy integration but when we followed the instruction JIRA Software was not getting listed in the integration type.

Please let us know if there is a way to integrate Jira 6.4 with PagerDuty.

Hi there!

While it isn’t possible to integrate directly with Jira Server 6.4.14 (due to the legacy integration no longer being available, and the PagerDuty app only being compatible with Jira Server 7.2.0 - 8.11.0), you could use webhooks in Jira to trigger events (which you can read about in further detail via Atlassian’s documentation here) and send the events to our Events API v2.

To generate the routing_key (also called the integration key), you’ll need to create a generic Events API v2 integration on your service.

If you need any further assistance with the above, please feel free to reach out to us at support@pagerduty.com with additional questions/details.
